National Tea & Herb Day!

Today is National Iced Tea Day and Herb & Spice Day!

Here's a couple of tea recipe's that I want to share. The first is Sweet Tea - my favorite!
Ingredients
1 pinch baking soda
2 cups boiling water
6 tea bags
3/4 cup white sugar
6 cups cool water

My second one is Arnold Palmer Passion Tea http://allrecipes.com/recipe/arnold-palmer-passion/detail.aspx

Ingredients
4 (2 g) bags hibiscus tea (such as Tazo Passion®)
4 cups boiling water
4 cups ice cubes
4 cups prepared lemonade



Here's a suggestion for herbs - Chicken and Herbs

Ingredients

4 bone-in chicken breast halves (8 ounces each)
2 tablespoons olive oil
1 tablespoon grated onion
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 teaspoon dried thyme
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon dried rosemary, crushed
1/2 teaspoon coarsely ground pepper
1/4 teaspoon rubbed sage
1/8 teaspoon dried marjoram
1/8 teaspoon hot pepper sauce
4 1/2 teaspoons minced fresh parsley

Have An Open Heart

As I was sorting through pictures this morning I came across pictures of my seven-year-old granddaughter with girls that she met for the first time on a 2 day stay in Prescott. I was drawn to the smiles on their faces and the love in their eyes. They met, accepted each other, and acted as if they had been lifelong friends. Oh, how I had forgotten about the innocence of a child. The color of skin, the size of a body, the structure of a face does not matter. They are ready to accept and love unconditionally until we and society teach them differently.


There was nothing but smiles and laughter as they danced, made beaded jewelry, and ate. They made sure that they all were a part of whatever they were participating in. They cared about each other's feelings and made sure that everyone was having fun and was happy.
