My Weekend

It's a beautiful Monday in Arizona! My weekend was a little busier than usual since I typically hang out around the house. Saturday we took the camera out (courtesy of Shutterfly) and shot some pics of my T-shirts. It was fun and crazy, but I don't think we did bad for being amateur photographers. Thank goodness my 14 year old granddaughter has been reading up and watching videos on the camera.(shes saving up for one) She pretty much has mastered it so she was a good little instructor and photographer. After the shoot we made our way downtown to CityScape to celebrate a very special birthday. My niece, Alicia French, International Assignment Editor @  sheknows.com  and editor and creator @  givingthegoodlife.com  was in Phoenix to celebrate turning 30! Had a fabulous night with great food and awesome people. There's nothing like relaxing on a rooftop in January - kind of makes me one to stay in Phoenix. Anyway, on Sunday it was more photos with diffe...

The Shutter Release Is Coming Soon

Take a look at what we're working on. We have the date and the venue  - now it's time to work our magic on creating an amazing event with  fashion and photography.                                                                                 Eric Winfield will be working on scouting fashion/glamour photographers while I  work on finding some creative and unique designers - together we will host a casting call for models. When we put it all together it's going to be a showcase that you won't want to miss. More details coming soon!

The Shutter Release Project

Eric Winfield and I are working on the next Shutter Release Project with a target date of October 2012. We will be showcasing Fashion Photographers and hosting a Fashion Show with several designers. If Fashion is your forte, you need to jump on board with our next showcase. We had problems with our videographer and photographer so we haven't been able to share as much as we had anticipated from our first showcase, but take a look at our youtube video for a glimpse of a great event. Love your Friday!

Mullets Everywhere

I have mind full of thoughts this morning but lets just talk about the mullet dress. Don't get me wrong, I'm not opposed to the mullet. In fact, I had a mullet along with my oldest daughter back in the day, and yes I do own a few casual mullet dresses, but enough is enough with this style. I'm out dress shopping for my event and I'm ready to OD because that's all I see. I decided to ask ChaCha when the mullet dress was designed - are you ready for this?  The modern mullet was made popular in the United States in the early 1980's.-ChaCha on! "Every generation laughs at the old fashions, but follows religiously the new."  -Henry David Thoreau Happy Friday... make the best of your most!
Wow! The day is slipping away from me... finally I'm at the computer. My friend Lisa stopped by for coffee this morning - we sit and talk never noticing how many hours have slipped by us.  I guess that's when you know you're real friends, right? Anyway, we talked a lot about The Shutter Release Project because I was multi tasking as we sipped coffee and ate donuts. She loves photography like me so that's a topic we both enjoy. As I've said before, I'm not a professional, just love playing with my camera and love love pictures. Also, we talked about my other obsession...fashion. She was curious on what I would be wearing to The Shutter Release Event. I showed her two dresses that are on my list - one's a one sleeve aquamarine maxi, and the other is a black to the knee BCBG dress. They both require me losing 10 pounds so we'll see - my donut didn't help the cause. Here's some shots from this week. If you see something ...

What To Do

Lately I have found myself thinking quite a bit about what I'm suppose to be doing with my life. I think that thought passes through most of us every now and then, but it's been going through mine quite a bit... maybe because I just turned 53, or maybe because I'm just not busy enough. Everyone that knows me will say, "you're busy watching grandkids."  Although that's true... I have to do a ' me ' thing. I have a difficult time not being busy doing something hands on... creating something. I love the feeling of crazy busy when you have to multi task like a mad woman. Anyway, I've been praying about all of this and my good friend Eric Winfield called  - we're collaborating on a project that should come to life in May. Also, another friend has started up a non profit that she has asked me to get on board with. I'm excited to be involved with both since I have a passion for each of their projects. In addition to working with them, I...
