Beach House

My shot of the house I started going through my vacation photos so I could make a couple of scrapbooks and I came across the picture I had taken of a little house that I've been admiring since 2002 when I walk the beach or walk to town. Every time I pass this little vacant house all boarded up I seem to be drawn to it. It sits on a fenced empty lot with the front of the house facing the beach.             I  point it out to whoever happens to be walking with me. So the night that I was walking to the Street Fair with Tom's friend and his wife I  pointed it out once again.  But his time I pointed it out to someone that knew some history of the house. She said, "That's the house that was in Top Gun." Remember the house that Tom Cruise and Kelly McGillis hooked up at... that's the house! So I did a little research and found out that the house was built in 1887 by Henry Graves, a retired doctor when Oceanside was 4 years old. It's one o...

It's Friday!

I'm happy it's Friday - anyone with me?                                                                                             Had a week of trying to get rid of unneeded and unused items, getting the pup groomed, looking at old photos, (so much for organizing) working on the venue for the next Shutter Release Project, working on my stuff for my business, and Makenna! The girls come home from camp today and from the pictures that the camp posted it looks like they had fun. Can't wait to see them and hear all of the camp stories. I just found out yesterday that my grandson started a food blog on Instagram  - I love it! He takes photos of all his meals and has a one liner comment along with rating the meal. I'm going to have to get an ...
I'm going through over 35 years of pictures. Yesterday after I talked about my camping adventure I remembered that I had pictures of our lovely camping trip. So I started going through my mound of shoe boxes which led me to the decision to sort and create scrapbooks. I've done sorting in the past and put pictures in envelopes and passed them on, but no one would ever guess it by looking at my collection. We're talking 5 children, 8 grandchildren and people I don't even remember worth of pictures. I do believe this is going to be a slow process. Happy Wednesday World!

Memories and Moments

In psychology, memory is an organism's ability to store, retain, and recall information and experiences. (Wikipedia) As I was dusting today I did some reflecting on some of the pictures of family that I have displayed through out the house. I'm a bit over the top when it come to photos - possibly because I really only have school pictures of me when I was young, or it's when I got my first camera as a kid I immediately became hooked. Regardless, it's a passion of mine. When I shoot a picture I love hands because they tell the story of your life, and the eyes tell me their true feelings. I see sadness, fear, happiness, loneliness... their true emotion. The way I look at it is anyone can smile at the camera, but that isn't ...
