Don't Expect Anything If You Suck

Father's Day is just a few days away! Yesterday I took two of my grandchildren to do a a few Fathers Day projects at my friends Homespun Preschool.  http://homespunmakeittakeitcrafts.blogspot.com/  As we were working with them it dawned on us that a few of the children (including mine) don't have a father active in their life. So why not make it for their mothers was our thought. In today's society there are moms playing the role of both, and vise versa, and there are some that don't deserve the father or mother title. So do we really need to have a specific day honoring either one? There are so many children that haven't met their dads, or their dads are just not active in their life. It's difficult for them to understand and hard to explain. I know this for a fact because I have my 5 year old granddaughter asking where dad is all the time. Thankfully she's blessed with other male figures in her life that have stepped in to try and fill that void, bu...
Feeling sick today after a week of a sick little girl with a cold and pink eye. So I'm just going to share some Father's Day stuff with you... Have an awesome Saturday! Father's Day is a celebration honoring fathers and celebrating fatherhood, paternal bonds, and the influence of fathers in society.  http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Father's_Day This Sunday is Father's Day - I have one granddaughter that doesn't have a relationship with her father. My husband has always been Grandfather/Father for her. Also, I have a son that doesn't fit my definition of a father. He's rarely with my granddaughter so isn't providing for her emotionally, and he definitely doesn't provide for her financially. This isn't the life I wanted for my grandchildren, and if you're a grandparent you know how much it breaks your heart. I am happy to say that my husband and oldest son has taken their role of being a father serious - thank God for that, and Happy Father's Day to them! I came across this  -  thought I'd share. A man isn’t: Someone who runs from his responsibilities A person who makes excuses A person who strik...

Only 13 Days Away

What's your plan for Father's Day? My husband and I talked to my son yesterday on what to do on Father's Day. We came up with two options - rent a couple of cabana's at the resort by my house and hang out for the day, or boat on the lake for the day. Personally, I think the resort by the house will be the most relaxing option, but the lake might be more fun. I looked up some gift ideas that I thought were unique and fun - June 17th will be here before you know it so you better start thinking.
