Got It Off My Chest

I'm going to vent today. Last night I was on a break talking to a co-worker when I took a look at Facebook for a quick minute. What I was seeing made me think about the people that I have as friends on this social network. First of all let's be honest - most of us are not real friends. I truly have a handful of people that really know me.(family not included) I'm noticing that some that I have accepted as friends aren't really my cup of tea. For example, don't threaten that you're going to delete everyone that doesn't agree with you politically, and I see that I'm still your friend. Now I'm thinking you're a liar. Furthermore, does anyone have their own thoughts anymore? My real friends know that I'm not political - I'm about right and wrong. They also know that I don't agree just to agree - if you're my friend you respect that. I don't believe that it's acceptable to make rude and disparaging remarks about human being...

My Ah-Ha Moment

This inspirational quote was sent to me a few weeks ago. I loved the message so I saved it, but I didn't put too much thought into it until I had an Ah -ha moment after a meditation. It was last week and I was feeling overwhelmed dealing with a family member. I tried having a conversation offering guidance and expressing my concerns, but the response that I received was, "You're not my life coach - I didn't hire you." Okay, fair enough I thought, so I shut myself in my bedroom to do a meditation assignment. I honestly didn't think I would be able to focus, but I needed to create some peace within myself since I don't function well with chaos, and I was hoping for some clarity on this situation. Surprisingly, the meditation allowed me to release all the anxiety that I was feeling; so during that relaxed state I prayed for a message on what to do. Towards the end of the medication you were asked to visualize a huge white canvas and create whatever ...

My Prayer List

The past few years I've written a prayer list that I pray off of daily. Last night I pulled out my 2014 prayer list and read through it before tossing it. All though several of my prayers had been answered, I was extremely happy and excited  that my good friend that I had been praying for her finances was answered. In December she inherited a good sum of money. I couldn't wait to text her and tell her about my prayer list and remind her of how good God is. It was a good reminder for me as well since during my life journey I sometimes feel that my prayers aren't  heard or relevant enough to receive answers. I was over joyed to be reminded that this is not the case. It restored more faith in me and reminded me of His promise. I have started a new list for 2015 and can't wait to witness the answered prayers. I love writing down what and whom I'm praying for because the results are such a blessing for me. Peace, Love, & Hugs!

Stay Prayed Up

This afternoon while I was trying not to focus on the dentist extracting four teeth I decided it was a good time to get lost in  prayer. It led me to thinking about my family and how much change has transpired since last year. We hit a lot of speed bumps last year, but so far so good. Although things are going smoothly today I know that I need to stay prayed up. I never get comfortable with life where I knock prayer off my to do list. There's always something or someone that wants to create havoc in your life. You need to put on your Armour of God, stay faithful, and pray diligently. There will always be temptations, struggles, and distractions that cross our paths - be ready for battle at all times. Life has made everyone fall at some point, but the key is getting back up. Stay strong! Peace, love & hugs!
It seems lately that most of my emails and text messages are from friends asking for prayer. It's so easy to get wrapped up in our own life and forget that other people are hurting and need our prayers. My friend Eric was sharing with me that Saturday around 2 in the morning he suddenly woke up. He couldn't fall back to sleep so he started praying for friends and family. As he prayed he kept seeing his brother in law - he said he was on his knees praying for him for 45 minutes or so.                     Later that morning he sent him a text message telling him that God put on his heart for him to pray for him, and that he needed to be the bigger person and contact his daughter from his previous marriage that he had been wanting to have a relationship with. Eric received a text from his brother in law later that afternoon saying, "Guess where I'm at?" He was having lunch with his daughter. That was on Saturday and Sunday he pass...
Makenna had a great first day of preschool!                                                                                         My friend Denise has been teaching preschool since I first met her 1989 and probably before that. My son, one of my daughters, and 4 of my grandchildren have gone to her - she has a great Christian based program. I use to teach with her many many years ago, but left to teach at Mountain Ridge High School when they started their preschool program. Anyway, Makenna was apprehensive about going but did really well with the other kids and did well on following directions. She did come home saying a new word - fortunately it's a good one. Her new word for the day was Amen . When they all sat down for lunch and folded their hands, closed th...
I had a great weekend in Flagstaff even though I ended up getting sick. But because I got sick it made me think of all the people in my life that are fighting cancer or some type of serious illness. For some reason God has placed people in my life that are hurting either physically or emotionally. I'm thankful that I'm just fighting the flu. My prayers go out to all of my family and friends that are under attack with illness and pain. I know what it's like to fight for your life - December will be 13 years of me being a Cancer Survivor. So never  give up hope and never stop praying my friends. Happy Labor Day - have a safe one!
Lately I've been so busy praying and thanking God for hearing and answering my prayers - I feel like I've lost sight of some of the struggles that my friends are going through. I have three friends that I met in 1989 when I came to Phoenix. Each of them are spiritual women that have been instrumental in my life. I'm extremely close to one so I know what's happening in her world - the other two, not so much. But within the past week I've had contact with each of them, and each of them have stuff that they're going through. I felt self - absorbed after my conversations with them - I believe that was Gods message to me. We're all going through something, we all have stuff we need to deal with and get through, and we all need someone praying for us. I had a recent conversation with my friend that is going through some drug issues with her son about prayer. We talked about how exhausted and beaten up you feel when you're dealing with an addict and all y...

Faith

I have a daughter that is struggling with believing that there's a higher power - even though she was raised going to church she stopped believing as years went by. At some point in her life with the way her life was going she started questioning if there really was a God, because if there was, why? You know... why is my life this way, why am I going through this, why don't I hear you speak to me God... why, why, why? I myself have had my bouts with the why's at certain times in my life. God seems to be the first one to question when life isn't going as we planned. Tuesday evening she prayed with a group  -  Wednesday she had enough of her prayer answered to give her some hope and a bit of faith that she had lost over the years. The excitement of her telling me about her prayer and what had transpired was priceless. It's baby steps! Love your Thursday!!!!

National Prayer Day

The First Thursday of May is National Prayer Day - Today, May 3, 2012 is National Prayer Day. National Day of Prayer calls on all people of different faiths in the United States to pray for the nation and its leaders. It is held on the first Thursday of May each year. http://www.timeanddate.com/holidays/us/national-day-prayer Prayer lays hold of  God’s plan and becomes the link between His will and its accomplishment on earth. Amazing things happen, and we are given the privilege of being the channels of the Holy Spirit’s prayer. ~ Elisabeth Elliot
