Showing posts with the label California
I spent the morning running around to fabric stores looking for material to re-upholster two of my dining room chairs... no luck! I'm in a funk again with my house so the cheapest thing that I always do to perk me up and my house is paint, re-upholster, and make new throw pillows. Since I can't find the material I want it's going to have to be only painting this weekend. Tired of my red walls and I'm getting close to being tired of my crosses, but I have too many to get rid of and they all have a story behind them. Once the wall is painted I'll make a decision if they should go back up. Lately I'm tired of everything so hopefully painting is going to get me out of my slump. I have a new addition to my house that my grandson Andrew( 5 years old) made for me. When I came home from California one of my cats had disappeared so he made me a stone in memory of her. Do you see the cat on the stone? Time to get back to work... Happy Saturday! Work joyf...

Day 4

I'm going to blog about Day 4 which is today. I'm starting to confuse myself by waiting to blog the following day, so you're going to get two today so I can keep it all straight. On our way to Ricky Lake El Capitan Theatre Add caption Today Kelsey and I went to the taping of the Ricki Lake Show at Culiver Studios and Tom took the girls to The El Captain Theatre in Hollywood to see Brave. They have Disney characters interact with the audience before the show - they both had a blast. Now for the Ricki Lake Show - I've been on plenty of sets and this was similar to being an extra but without pay. As we waited to be lined up and seated I met two women that live in California - one that worked in the industry for years. She was telling me how the I love Lucy was filmed in the same studio that Ricky Lake is now filming in. Anyway, we talked and laughed like old friends that had met for a mini reunion. When it was time line up they decided that they wanted...

Day 2

This morning the guys went fishing off the pier while some of us girls went running on the beach and some went shopping.                                                                                                                                            I love the little shops with all the cute and trendy styles - most of my shopping for my shop was done in California. My granddaughters were having the time of their life grabbing their clothes and running to the fitting room to try them on and walking out to model them like it was their private fashion show. Unfortunately, I had to shut it down due to a 2 year old and the nightmare jog...

Day 1

We had a nice drive to California yesterday. Makenna cooperated sitting in her seat for 6 hours and we only stopped once at a rest stop.(which totally disgusted all of the girls) I love driving down the street to the condo and seeing the view of the ocean. If you know the Murray's  you'll have a visual while reading this next line. We screamed (yes screamed) we're in Cali at the beach, going to the condo - which turned in to a song  followed by dancing and several whoo hoo's!                       As soon as we pulled up to the condo it was a quick unload the car, throw the bags in the bedrooms, put on the swimsuits and head to the beach. We walk across the street to the beach, put our belongings down, take a few pictures and begin playing in the water when suddenly a huge wave takes our cell phones, shoes and sand toys while splashing my camera and the ipad. We were able to catch the cell phones, dry off...

Shopping Time

Today I'm meeting a friend for lunch that use to volunteer at The Clothes Silo with me. After that it's wholesale shopping for me! I'm hoping to have enough inventory by October to launch my store. I've been working the past few weeks on establishing relationships with wholesalers in India and California at this point. I still have some of my old contacts from my previous store that I will utilize as well. I'm seeing some beautiful items... can't wait to share! Peace & Love... embrace your Monday!

Faithful

I told myself when I started this blog that I would write about whatever is on my mind. Several things happened over the weekend that drained me both mentally and physically, but plenty of sleep on Sunday has managed to rejuvenate my body and my mind. We all have stuff going on in our lives, but sometimes I feel God sends it to me as a storm versus a few raindrops. For example, I sat Saturday in a huge family group with some very wounded people that drained me mentally - found out Sunday morning that no one had seen or had contact with my son that was working at a National Park in California. So my Sunday consisted of 6 people on phones and computers trying to get some information from someone.  I did a lot of praying over the weekend and God revealed a lot to me. I made several decisions yesterday that involved some people in my life, but I'm faithful and obedient when it comes to God speaking to me - I know it's all going to work out. Today, I woke up thinking about w...

Jealousy

I just found out that a certain person that has tried before to get my son in trouble and slander his name is now saying that he really isn't in California - he's in jail in Tempe for stealing a car. WRONG! I'm going to say my source is credible since she has a vested interest in Michael. As for the person spreading the rumors - work on fixing your own life instead of being jealous of someone that is. Jealousy is such an evil thing...I'm praying for you. And as for the rest of you little losers, I don't want to hear from you telling me what an awful person I am. REMINDER: I'm not the one on Drugs!  Here's to you Michael - keep doing what you're doing. I love you and I'm extremely proud of you!
